Tell us about your background, and what are you most passionate about?
I am a Chartered Surveyor and a PhD. in Economics who have 30 years experience in property development and investment. An investment fund was founded which focus on acquisition on Industrial Park and scheduled to be listed within 2 years. I have written several books on Real Estate, Finance Fintech and ESG.
Describe a time you had to make a tough decision (e.g. budget cuts, organizational restructuring, market withdrawal, etc.). What did you do and what was the result?
Transformation of my professional from Surveyor to Finance and new Economy is very challenging. Leave the comfort zone a hard decision. And be a multi-task will be the trend in the future.
How would others define your communication style? Do you prefer to be close to your employees or maintain a healthy distance, and why?
I will deliver my goal or KPI to my colleagues clearly and hands off to them. This is the only method that make them grow. I would like to share my experience to solve their personal problems rather than in working level. Because my belief is that working issues are easily solved compare to personal.
How has the industry been changing in recent years? What do you think are the biggest challenges your industry will face in the next 5 years?
I change from a Surveyor to a licensed RO in Securities, to an INED in listed Co., a fund manager, an author and a KOL. Most of them are challenging but it depends on how you put your effort and enjoy the challenges.
What personality traits make a good leader?
Be a good listener and be humble. You're not smart as your subordinates.
