company was founded in 1972 by CS Lim, TJ Han and Anthony Lau. I took over the reins in 2001, and tripled the group business in revenue and expanded into new territories to double its previous size prior to 2000.
We hold premier distributor lines that allow us to fit every international f&b chain in our territories.
We now have create a new line of our own branded line of Foodservice equipment, and build capabilities in software and IoT capabilities.

Our software platform currently have more than 7500 users, over 1500 locations in five countries, and IoT solutions in over 400 locations over two countries.

Tell us about your background, and how you came to found your company?

I have a degree in computer science, with a MBA from Booth, U. Chicago, an honorary Doctorate in Foodservice. I also have a degree in hamburgerology from McDonald’s University and a CFSP II (Certified Foodservice Professional).
My stint in the Singapore Commandoes during my national service has instilled in me a strong mental endurance and focus in everything I do.

Simplex is founded by my father and two of his friends. I took over operations in 2001 and few years ago, together with my father, we bought over the entire company.
I have also founded two IT companies, dealing with asset and service management platform, and another company providing IoT services and infrastructure to our customers.
I Co-founded another company focusing in F&B consultancy.

What is most important to you and your organization – mission, vision, or core values? Why?

Core Values. Our values define us, in whatever we do.

Can you explain briefly how your service(s)/product(s) works?

Core business is providing commercial Foodservice equipment to our customers, focusing on international chains. Business is currently active in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Mongolia.
Subsidiary businesses leverage on core business customers and business associates and networks, providing a service platform using a cloud based platform mobile app to manage assets, vendors, service and operations. Also assist customers in providing IoT connectivity to customers’ assets.

How has the industry been changing in recent years?

Industry has just started looking at technology to help them improve efficiency and productivity.
cost is on an upward trend and labor market for this segment is also tightening.

What makes you different from what’s currently available in the market?

We are one of the handful of companies in the international market in our segment that spans more than three countries in operations.
We are also the only company that has R&D capabilities in building new strategic initiatives using technology.

What does the future hold for your company?
