Valuable Capital is a member of the online brokerage of the Sina Group. It was established in 2010 as a licensed brokerage firm (Central No. AUL711) and holds licenses No. 1, 2, 4 and 9 awarded by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. It is one of the few securities regulators in the industry. Internet brokers with licenses, mainly providing investors with US and Hong Kong stock transactions and securities-related account management services.

Tell us about your background, and how you came to found your company?
Jimmy has recently joined Valuable Capital (华盛证券), 38% owned by China’s Sina/Weibo, to help build up the institutional business, ie DCM, Sales and Trading, Structured Finance, Distressed, Structured Product and Onshore China Business. The backbone of the company is the internet brokerage business for HK and US stocks and the firm is trying to catch up with Futu which is listed in US. One of the differentiators between Valuable Capital and Futu is exactly the debt business that Jimmy is building here, including developing the trading platform for fixed income products. Before Valuable Capital, Jimmy spent close to 17 years at SMBC Nikko, SocGen, Nomura, Credit Agricole and Credit Suisse mostly in HK and focusing on fixed income business.

Our company has a cutting edge stock trading app which enables users to not only buy/sell HK and US stocks but also have access to a wider investor community and market intelligence leveraging on our major shareholders’ network
How has the industry been changing in recent years?
Dis-intermediation and over-flooded information have transformed the market and changed investors perception and the way they choose their service providers
What makes you different from what’s currently available in the market?
One of the key differentiators that sets us apart is our focus on the huge investor community in China/HK and our addition of debt business onto the existing platform
